Alcohol Detox is not "Trendy", but is Best Shot a problem drinker

While the world reeled at the news of the death of actor Heath Ledger by a lethal combination of prescription drugs-the trendy new mass killer on celebrity drug scene-another celebrity with a decidedly alcoholism untrendy controlled plant alcohol detox this week to confront his demons.

We were surprised to read 25-year-old Kirsten Dunst the reputation of "Spiderman" entered a detox and alcohol rehabilitation center this week, exactly one year after Anna Nicole Smith died in the same kind of scenario that killed Heath Ledger-a combination of prescription drug lethal. Dunst had been battling alcoholism for some time, friends said and finally figured out that it was time for detoxification and rehabilitation.

Prescription drugs seem to be the "trendy" way to go because almost every day we read as some celebrities somewhere-or someone in our city-is heading for the rehabilitation of drug or the morgue because of exotic cocktail of prescription opiates, benzodiazepines and psych drugs of some sort. Alcohol is often reported as part of the mix of prescription drugs, but always seem a bit quaint.Alcohol? As old style! Dying surrounded by prescription medication containers sounds way cooler than dying surrounded by empty beer cans and bottles of wine.

We tend to discount alcoholism, because not only is trendy, it's not "now", it is young and beautiful and enchanting.Sure, we have all heard of alcohol abuse of Lindsay Lohan, but it was emphasized by his drug abuse cocaine and simultaneous prescription. the same applies to a ton of other young hot Hollywood celebrities. Straight drinkers are supposed to be older, as Mel Gibson, who was sent to treatment detox alcohol by a court in California, or 48-year-old Sean Young, best known for her roles in "Blade Runner" and "No Way Out", who entered alcohol detox this week. Also Kiefer Sutherland, who not only need detox alcohol but after 48 days in a prison in California due to multiple DUIs, at the age of 41 years is an alcohol abuser "acceptable", it's okay to take note of and then just forget about.

But Kirsten Dunst? At the age of 25 years? C'mon! Kirsten is enamored of America. She's girl friend of Spiderman! She can't be a "citrus press."What about Amy Winehouse, you ask, that is only 24? There is comfortable with Amy because she, well, English-and we all know that Brits are drinkers massive-and anyway she is a singer blues hard-rockin' and booze is part of that package. remember to Janis Joplin and Southern Comfort? ' Nuff said.Except to say that a detoxification program modern medical alcohol probably would have saved lives of Janis.

But Kirsten Dunst enters rehab and alcohol detox?

So a moment and consider the facts: dozens if not hundreds of celebrities battle alcoholism each year, young and elderly, to the news. Many enter alcohol detoxification centres to retrieve the life that you've lost. Furthermore, alcoholism is this nation-and world-dependency probably number one and has been for as long as no one has paid any attention to these things. something like 18 million alcohol abusers in America need alcohol detox and treatment of now, but according to federal investigations only a fraction are receiving the treatment they need and don't forget that America's colleges and universities are so saturated with alcoholism and alcohol abuse that detox centers are under construction right on some campus.

The need for alcohol detox in America Dwarfs literally the need of any other type of drug treatment. The abuse of alcohol is not enough, not clean, no is stylish, and hits to families in every city, town and village, ruining the life and murder of five people, if not more, than all other addictive drugs combined-it just takes much longer, unless it is a car accident, a drunken binge alcoholic excessive or a suicide discouraged.

Fortunately, a detoxification program followed by modern medical alcohol alcohol rehabilitation offers the best chance, by far, for anyone with a drinking problem permanently manage alcoholism and return to a life.
